How to Submit Your Photographs

Welcome to Zamstock, a stock photography platform for your captivating imagery of  Zambia.

To embark on this exciting journey and share your artistic vision with the world, follow these straightforward steps and submit your photos:

1. Prepare your photos

Firstly, ensure that your photographs meet our size requirements. For optimal stock image usage, images should be at least 9 megapixels. The minimum accepted size is 2500 pixels for the long edge at 300dpi. Because we apply our watermark to contributors’ images and credit artists for their work, please refrain from using custom watermarks on your submissions. We uphold a zero-tolerance policy for duplicates. Select only the best images from any single setup and refrain from submitting numerous shots of the same subject taken from excessive angles. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just starting out, strive for excellence in every submission. Be technically sound, meticulous, and selective in choosing your images.

2. Collate your submission

Each photograph should be accompanied by essential information, including:
– The title, including information like the location where the photograph was taken.
– The relevant tags and keywords to enhance visibility in search results.
– A unique number assigned to each photograph for identification purposes.
– The photographer’s name – credit yourself as the talented photographer behind the lens.
– Contact details, including your email address and telephone number, for communication purposes.

6. Submit your package

Use www.wetransfer.com to send your photos along with a separate form for each image containing the necessary information. Send the package to photography@zamstockphotos.com.

We look forward to seeing your exceptional work and building a collaborative journey to showcase the beauty of Zambia through your lens. Join our community of talented photographers and let your artistry shine on Zamstock!

Contributor Requirements

As Zamstock was created and continues to be run by contributors just like you, we avoid the restrictions imposed on creatives by conventional agencies. That means that we want contributors to be able to focus on creating unique work and determine their commercial viability themselves. In tune with this, we have strict quality standards as well as systems in place to flag spam and inappropriate media. Along with having more control, each contributor also has more responsibility. Remember that you will be removed from our website for breach of our contributor agreement.

Here are some guidelines contributors should keep in mind when submitting their work to Zamstock:

Focus. All the relevant work must be in focus at a 100% zoom.

Exposure. Media must not be overly under or over-exposed, meaning not too many washed out pure white areas and not too many pure black areas.

Size. Stock image customers often need to print their projects, so media must be at least 9 megapixels in most cases. This is not a hard rule, however the minimum size for acceptance is 2500 pixels for the long edge at 300dpi.

No Custom Watermarks. We watermark images for contributors and let visitors know which artist created the media they are viewing.

Unique Work. We have a zero tolerance policy towards duplicates and are restrictive when it comes to numerous images that are the same subject taken form excessive angles. If contributors notice duplicates in their collections, they should try to purge them immediately. Contributors should pick only the best images from any single setup and disregard the rest.

Professional Standards. Even if a contributor is just starting out, they must set the bar high for themselves. They must be technically viable, strict and meticulous about every images they submit to us.

Submission. Each photograph submitted must be accompanied with: (1) a title that includes where it was taken, (2) tags and keywords that will help it to appear in search results, (3) a unique number,  (4) the name of the photographer,  (5) an email address and telephone number.

Method of Payment. Each contributor must supply an account to which funds owing can be paid.

Do Not Upscale. Downscaling is fine, but do not upscale any media to a higher resolution. This will be viewed as attempting to game the system and cheats customers.

While trying to offer contributors a solid platform to monetise your work, we are equally geared towards giving customers the best of the best. If we get any legitimate technical complaints about media from our clients, contributors will be warned as it reflects poorly on Zamstock as a whole.

Please note that an advertiser may ask Zamstock to show an ad to a certain audience of users (e.g., based on demographics or other interests). In that situation, Zamstock determines the target audience and Zamstock serves the advertising to that audience and only provides anonymous aggregated data to the advertiser. If you respond to such an ad, the advertiser or ad server may conclude that you fit the description of the audience they are trying to reach.

The Zamstock Privacy Policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of, third-party advertisers. Please consult the respective privacy policies of such advertisers or contact such advertisers for more information.

Editorial Guidelines

What is Editorial Media?

Whilst looking for stock media on Zamstock, you may come across images/videos/vectors that are labelled as ‘Editorial’ (‘editorial media’). Editorial media cannot be used to advertise or promote a product or service, as they depict content/locations/people/products/brands/situations that have not been released for commercial use.

What Can Editorial Media Be Used For?

Although editorial media cannot be used for commercial use, there are a variety of ways in which editorial images can be properly used. Permitted use of editorial media includes using the media:

• to supplement news coverage or illustrate news
• to supplement a commentary column in a newspaper or magazine article
• for blog articles or opinion posts on websites
• in non-commercial multimedia presentations
• for a non-commercial documentary

As a rule of thumb, editorial media can be used as a supplementary resource and not commercially driven endeavors. For example, you can use an editorial image to illustrate a story within a newspaper, but you cannot use it in advertising or marketing campaigns. If you have any questions or are unsure whether a particular stock media item can be used for your intended project, please contact us before purchasing a license.
