DAVID M BROWN
Lusaka, Zambia
David Brown (and Sonia, his wife) came to Zambia in 2013 to do voluntary work with some NGOs and churches, and they’re still here. David joined a photography group in Lusaka to make new friends in a different circle and, as well as improving his own skills through their monthly competitions, he found himself becoming the organizer.
Today, with Sonia he runs a small greetings card business, combining his photography and Sonia’s production and organizing skills. David enjoys candid portrait photography, helping people have good memories of their events. And he likes capturing wildlife and landscapes (classic wide open places, as well as urban and street photography). He has even produced some abstract smoke photography. David got the worst mark (grade 9) in art in his first year at secondary school and admits to some subliminal desire to prove to his art teacher that there was some skill there after all.
